In this session we will discuss bird conservation across the more than 40,000 acres of park and preserves in the city of San Diego. We will talk about our successes, and our challenges in managing avian species in the largest urban nature preserve in the continental United States. City of San Diego Park and Recreation’s Natural Resource Manager Mark Berninger will discuss the efforts the city is taking to help threatened birds and other wildlife and discuss the challenges of conservation management in one of the largest cities in the USA.
