219 San Diego Bird Alliance: Protecting Endangered Coastal Species
San Diego Bird Alliance’s own Karina Ornelas, Conservation Outreach Coordinator, and Andrew Meyer, Director of Conservation, will highlight our key efforts to protect and restore populations of endangered coastal birds, including Ridgway’s Rails, California Least Terns, and Elegant Terns. Through habitat restoration, monitoring, and community engagement, the Alliance works to safeguard these vulnerable species and their nesting sites. Participants will learn about the challenges these birds face, the science behind conservation strategies, and how they can contribute to preserving San Diego’s coastal ecosystems.
