JW Hutchinson Hi, I’m J. W. Hutchinson. I’m an author, artist and educator and I live in Southern California. I love visiting schools and libraries to connect with families and talk about writing, drawing and the amazing power we all share - our imagination.

I believe that every child is a genius! As a parent, I believe that all kids share the same infinite potential and it’s our job as caregivers to tune-in to our child’s unique gifts and help them express it. When we remind our children how truly amazing they are, it becomes easier for them to recognize and express their inner greatness.

I’ve always found creative inspiration in nature. When a feisty hummingbird showed up at the feeder in my backyard, I was inspired to write and illustrate the Napoleon Hummingbird book series. The stories gently teach values and virtues in a fun, creative way.
