Trip Leader: Rick Grove

Retired from a career in education most recently serving as the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel Services for the Carlsbad Unified School District, Rick enjoys sharing natural history with others. In addition to leading field trips at the San Diego Bird Festival, he serves as the President of the San Diego Field Ornithologists, sits on the Board of Directors of Buena Vista Audubon and is their Birding Chair, and leads monthly bird walks at Agua Hedionda Lagoon and the San Diego Botanical Garden. He studied at the Moore Laboratory of Zoology and earned his Bachelor's degrees in Biology and Economics from Occidental College and his Masters’ Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of LaVerne.
